Description
|
Cottage is on a semi-private beach where there's great swimming and walking on the sandflats. It has three bedrooms(one queen; others with two double bunks). There is one four piece bath and an outdoor shower as well. There are many amenities including gas barbeque, screened-in porch with rocking chair, airtight woodstove, microwave, coffee pot and all dishes - all you need to bring is your food, toiletries and yourselves. The owners live close by and share their kayaks with people in the cottage if they would like to kayak with the seals off the point - or just go for a quiet paddle on their own. Cottage is close to golf courses, the village of Pugwash, town of Amherst and the Bay of Fundy and Joggins Fossil Cliffs/UNESCO site. It is centrally located so that you can easily visit the provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island for day trips. If you just want to relax it's great for swimming, kayaking, beach walks, beach fires and bird watching.
Willet Point is a great place for a quiet and relaxing vacation but is not suitable if you wish to party late into the night or early morning. We encourage people to come and relax and leave behind their blackberries(if they can!). There are great sunsets, kayaks, bonfires on the beach, seals, eagles, shorebirds and friendly neighbors especially O'Reilly our golden retriever who likes to visit. One family who has rented several times also noted that "the location is perfect for a family of birdwatchers with the woods, the saltmarsh and the ocean habitats to enjoy and explore. We recorded over 50 species including the ever-present willets and a spectacular bald eagle sitting on the sandbar one morning." In August blue-herons are plentiful!

During July and August the cottage rents by the week/month(Sunday pm-Sunday am). We have several people who return every year or two because of the private, quiet and peaceful surroundings.
