Description
|
Serendipity Cottage is a place to 'get away from it all'!
Whether on a rainy or sunny day, the huge covered deck allows you to rest and relax and take in your surroundings. The tall trees are home to several bald eagle families and we have counted over 60 eagles (mature and immature) on the beach at one time. Sitting on the cottage deck and watching an eagle soar and glide by is truly breathtaking! Other wildlife includes deer that wander onto the property with their young, grazing peacefully for all to watch, and hummingbirds 'dart' back and forth and stop to hover and catch a drink of sugar water from the feeder.
The beach, while rocky, does not seem to be a hindrance. In fact, under each overturned stone lie more interesting sea creatures to discover. The view from the beach is breathtaking. Off in the distance one can see the mainland of BC and cruise ships gliding by on their way to Alaska. Closer to shore are the islands of Chrome, Denman and Hornby (little Hawaii). Make sure to bring your binoculars so you don't miss out on the seals, sea lions, sea otters and whales. In the evening kick back for a great beach fire and 'smores' and lovely sunsets.
Activities:
Within walking distance down a tree 'draped' lane is the community of Bowser. It has a 'well-stocked, reasonably priced' grocery store, hair salon, spa, gift shop/dollar store, gourmet coffee shop with delicious baked goods and lunches, a public library, a gym and a video store. Once you arrive at Serendipity Cottage, you won't want to 'go into town' to get groceries, etc. and you won't have to! If you do want to go 'further afield', great places to explore include Horne Lake and caves, numerous walking and hiking trails, Farmers markets, Coombs, Qualicum Beach, Englishman River Falls, and Cathedral Grove.
Serendipity Cottage is decorated in the 'lighthouse' theme in keeping with the Lighthouse Community that Bowser is a part of. Several of our guests have commented on how 'cozy, comfortable and well-stocked' the cottage is. There are two bedrooms; one with a Queen bed and the other with a single and bunk bed (can sleep 3). There is also a pull-out couch. The cottage has a full, 4 piece bathroom and a well-stocked kitchen. One guest said 'This kitchen is better stocked than my own at home!!' All bedding and linens are provided.
All we ask is that you come to stay, relax and leave feeling as refreshed and rejuvenated as we do!
Cottage is located approx 180m from the waterfront that includes 85m of private beach. Cabin is electrically heated and has a brick fireplace for cozying up to on cooler evenings.
Additional quests are allowed for $15 extra per night per guest

$850/week (Pref. Sat to Sat) + GST (5%)
$130/night + GST - 3 night minimum
Low Season: October 1 - May 31
$600/week + GST (5%)
$95/night + GST - 3 night minimum
Low season monthly rates are $950/month plus GST. For this coming 'low season' the monthly rates are available from October 2011 to April 2012(inclusive).
Check in at 4 pm. Check out at 11 am.
