Description
|
Pine Rock Cottage has a unique private location nestled among tall pine trees atop large rocks on the west shore of Watson Island in Lake Cecebe between Burk's Falls and Magnetawan (35 minutes north west of Huntsville). Pine Rock Cottage is a private, peaceful, natural setting conducive to rest and relaxation.
Your hosts will pick you up from Rockwynn Landing on Hwy #520 (where you can park for free) when you arrive and return you there at the end of the rental period. You'll have the loan of a rowboat OR a canoe while you're at Pine Rock Cottage.
Watson Island is 16 acres with 7 private cottages in total, providing a secluded retreat from city living. The only cottages you can see from Pine Rock Cottage are across the lake.
There are 40 miles of navigable waterways stretching in both directions from Watson Island. There are always fishermen on Lake Cecebe. The lake contains Walleye, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, and Small Mouth Bass.
Boats and motors can be rented at marinas on the lake and there are boat launches if you have your own boat.
Ideal for single, couple, two singles or a parent with one child over 6. Very suitable for active seniors.
Most people enjoy the terrain around Pine Rock Cottage, but if you have mobility issues please know that the ground around Pine Rock Cottage is not flat. There is a path up a hill from the dock to the cottage, eight steps, including a landing, from the ground to the Pine Rock Cottage front door, and two steps from the living room to the bedroom and from the living room to the kitchen.
Guests are expected to bring their own sheets, pillow cases and towels. However sheets and towels can be provided for an extra $25 per week or part week upon request.
Check out no later than 11 AM and check in no earlier than 2 PM.
Pine Rock Cottage is ideal for single, couple, two singles, or parent with one child over 6.... plus a friendly dog. Very suitable for active seniors.
The Cottage is private but not isolated. You can just rest and relax, or you can be more active and walk the island paths, swim off the private dock, fish, explore Lake Cecebe by canoe, or maybe go down the river to the Village of Magnetwan. -- One guest commented that he was glad he had stayed at Pine Rock Cottage for a full week so that he could experience views of the lake with his morning coffee and an evening wine on each of a Muskoka chair on the dock, the bench on the rock, the chairs on the raised porch, and at the table on the deck. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

A well behaved 100% house trained friendly dog who is good with strangers is allowed if the owners agree to pick up all droppings and not leave the dog unattended. If your dog won't reliably come when called, it must be kept on leash at all times. A dog cannot be left inside the cottage alone or tied outside and left alone.
There is a strict no parties policy, and the maximum number that can stay overnight at Pine Rock Cottage is 4 people of any age. No tenting or camping is allowed.
You are expected to leave Pine Rock Cottage in the same condition you found it. A cheque for $150 as a damage/cleaning deposit is required and will be returned when you leave the cottage as you found it.

Heating: Insulated cottage with electric baseboard heating.
Children allowed: Yes. Rocky shoreline, private dock with swimming ladder.
Guests allowed: No. There is a strict "no parties" policy, and the maximum number that can stay over night at Pine Rock Cottage is 2 people of any age. No tenting or camping is allowed.
Smoking: No. No smoking inside or outside.
Pets allowed: Yes. A well behaved dog in allowed, if the owners agree to pick up all droppings. If your dog won't reliably come when called, it must be kept on a leash at all times.
Equipments:
- The cottage has a cozy, compact, efficient layout and is clean and bright with two skylights. The Cottage is pine paneled and features 1 bedroom with a comfortable new Kingsdown Queen-size mattress, a double futon in the living room, a full bath with tub and shower, toilet, kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, two counter-top burners, sink, coffee maker, kettle and all dishes and utensils. The Cottage is fully insulated with two baseboard heaters for cool nights.
- A propane BBQ is provided, along with outside table and chairs, and a bench on the rock over looking the lake. The bench is a favorite spot for a morning coffee, watching the sunset, or just relaxing.
- All Pine Rock Cottage windows have screens.
- Enjoy your own private 10' x 30' dock with a swimming ladder. The dock has two Muskoka chairs and a small side table for relaxing, reading, snoozing, or watching the world go by. -- There is plenty of room to dock a motor boat that you rent or bring with you.
- You'll have the loan of a canoe OR a rowboat while you're at Pine Rock Cottage. (Most weeks there will be the choice of a stable rowboat with two sets of oars OR a 16' canoe, but some weeks one or the other will not be available.)
- Free long term parking is available at Rockwynn Landing just off Hwy #520 where your hosts will pick you up when you arrive and drop you off when you leave.
- Running water is pumped from the lake, and the first 5 gallon jug of potable drinking water is provided. Free additional drinking water is available at one of the two artesian wells near Magnetawan or Burk's Falls, or may be purchased at local stores.
- There is a DVD player with a TV and a radio, but minimal TV reception.
- There is good cell phone reception. Bring your Bell or Rogers hub/stick for internet connections.
- There is a small fire pit on the rocks by the lake.
- Guests are expected to bring their own sheets and towels, or sheets and towels can be provided for an additional $25 per visit.

Pine Rock Cottage is on Watson Island in Lake Cecebe which has 40 miles of navigable waterways. A canoe is loaned to guests for their stay and motor boats can be rented on the lake.
