WARNING! This ad will lead to fun. If you cannot get away for an entire week at the cottage you can book Hummingbird Cottage for the weekend or Monday to Friday or weekly.

This is one of the few properties available to rent weekly($699/$1189), Monday-Friday($399/$599), Friday-Sunday($399/$649) or until Monday($410/$675). Off season mid week 2 day $299, Plus $60 booking fee.
$500 refundable security deposit

If you book in time 2 hours of cleaning can be pre-booked and prepaid for $50 for 2 hours

Hummingbird Cottage is a very clean, small 1958 cottage which has been tastefully remodeled retaining it's original cottagey charm. The open concept kitchen and living room share a pine vaulted ceiling and wide pine plank flooring.

The 3 bedrooms have newer beige carpeting. There are 1 queen, 1 double and a single over double bunk bed. The 4 piece bathroom has a vanity sink, newer deep soaker tub, separate shower and neutral ceramic tiles on walls and floor. The many windows flood the cottage with light.

A huge wrap around sun deck is accessed by an 8 foot patio door and a wooden screen door.
The exterior is clad in painted half sliced log siding.
2 CEILING FANS, 2 ELECTRIC FANS, AIR CONDITIONER/DEHUMIDIFIER CENTRAL AIR INSTALLED 2010 set to 74.

We are renting weekends, full weeks and Mon-Fridays ( the best deal per diem) at our family's 900 sq ft cottage. 2 day mid week during spring or Autumn.

Hummingbird cottage is 1 block from the shores of Lake Huron midway between Bayfield with it's quaint yet sophisticated boutique atmosphere and fine restaurants and the carnival atmosphere of Grand Bend.
Bayview Golf Course is 2 miles or 5 kilometres away.
South Shore Marina in Bayfield offers three types of rentals that include all required equipment. 12' canoes, 14' fishing boat with 9.9 motor. 22' Tanzer sailboat

CLEANING
It is reccommended that you pre-book and prepay $50 for 2 hours of cleaning.
You must stiil wash and put away your dishes etc . The cleaner will dust, vacuum and mop floors, clean appliances and counters and clean the bathroom.

Please note that this is a family owned cottage. There is no staff like a hotel would have.

MINIMUM $50 Charge

Waterfront: - - a 1 minute walk to beach access stairs
Heating: newer forced air gas furnace and gas fireplace
Guests allowed: No. All cottages in this area are on septic systems. this one is designed for 6 people.

Equipment:
Central air is preset to go as low as 72 degrees. There are also a portable air conditioner and fans if you prefer.
Internet, 7 bottle wine cooler, 20" Satellite TV, VCR & DVD players, 6 chair resin wicker patio set, BBQ and extra propane tank. Newer full sized kitchen appliances. Apartment sized washer and clotheline are provided.
Also provided are:microwave, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, pots and pans, cutlery and dishes, ice cream maker, vacuum, ceiling fans, gas fireplace, electric towel warmer, copper firebowl which serves as a firepit. (Wood can be purchased locally)
For the little ones: an infant bath tub, booster seats and highchairs are provided. There is also a portable fold down play pen type of affair to take to the beach,

Beach access stairs are at the end of the block. Beach is sandy with pebbles washing up near the shoreline. Entry is shallow. Lakebed can be somewhat stoney a little ways off shoreline so pack your swim socks.
Families and mature couples only no groups of teenagers or students.

Please bring your sense of adventure, a flashlight, paper products, kitchen and bed linens, bath linens. Bring your cell phones.

We love our family cottage and hope you will too but please be aware that it is a cottage and does not have the services that a hotel would offer.

This year we are providing something new for couples during the spring and autumn off season only....... A dancing pole. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. It is portable and you will have to install it and take it down when you are done using it. It is a friction fit. It fits into a plate which is screwed into a beam in the living room and pressure tightened to push against the pine floor.. You may have to slide the loveseat to make room. You will definitely have to move the coffee table.

The Peekaboo Dance Pole is not a professional dance pole. It cannot support your full body weight and is to be used solely in conjunction with the dance moves recommended in the dance book

Pole is NOT available during summer months. When school is out we rent mostly to families and instead provide a lot of amenities geared to infants, toddlers and children.
