Fancy Free is located in the heart of the fabled playground of Eastern Ontario: Big Rideau Lake. There are dozens of options for fascinating day trips, such as the Thousand Islands Cruise, hiking or tennis on nearby Colonel By Island (a National Park property, part of the Rideau Canal Historic Waterway system), or visiting Historic Fort Henry in Kingston or the national capital sites such as the Parliament Buildings and the National Museum of Civilization in Ottawa.
Rentals are minimum one week, from Saturday to Saturday. Regretfully, we are not able to offer long weekends in the spring and fall, including Victoria Day and Thanksgiving, unless they are part of a weekly rental.
Waterfront: Several boats are included with the rental as well as private dockage on the mainland. There is a small sandy boat landing area suitable for small children to wade.
Heating: Wood Stoves, Fireplace, bedroom/bathroom baseboard heaters.
Guests allowed: Yes. Guests are not to exceed the cottage limit of 8 people at one time.
Pets allowed: Yes. with appoval. Not allowed on furniture or beds.
Amenities:
Living Room (oriental rugs, TV with VHS and DVD, fireplace and library), Dining Room, 5 bedrooms with comfy duvets on all beds, luxurious 3-pc Bathroom with soaker bathtub/shower, set-in sink and marble counter. Kitchen: Refrigerator, Oven, Stove, Microwave, Toaster Oven, Coffee Maker, Cutlery, Dishes. Island size is 3/4 acre with mature trees, BBQ, Hammocks, Badminton Net, Swimming Raft. Golf courses nearby.
Seven boats are included with rental: 3 canoes, a 14' motorboat, 2 kayaks, and one sailboat (Sunfish).
