Description
|
Eileen's cottage is central to everything on the Bruce; The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with bunk beds and a single; the kitchen is fully equipped, there is a dining room and the livingroom has a large couch, satelite tv, dvd player, vcr and large picture windows. The bathroom has a tub and a four foot by five foot shower. There is a one room bunky by the water with a fold out double bed but no facilities. The cottage sits on an acre and a half of woodlands and has a stream running through the property. It is also in a deeryard and during the winter, the deer wander the property. Because of the dropping water levels there is no longer swimming or boat launching at the cottage but the water can be seen and we've put a screened gazebo down near the water. North 25 k is Tobermory where you have the glassbottomed boat tours over shipwrecks, dinner cruises, observation tower where you can look out onto the Bruce, boat rentals and a variety of restaurants. There is a large sandy beach (Singing Sands) just ten minute drive away and the boat launch is four hundred yards from the cottage. Fifteen minutes away is the national park on Georgian Bay where the Bruce Trail and the famous Grotto are. A new swimming area we found on Georgian Bay is Little Cove at the end of Little Cove Road off of Hwy #6 near Tobermory . Golf courses in the area are Tip O The Bruce, Cornerstone, BP Golf and Cobble Beach
Waterfront: We are waterfront, just not in the strictest sense of the word. You can see the water, touch it and hear it, there just isn't enough to swim in or launch a boat yet but we're working on it.

Smoking: Yes. Outside only and butts must all be picked up

Equipments:
There is a front deck and a barbecue on the back patio. The cottage has been almost completely renovated and is very comfortable in summer and winter. There is a boat launch four hundred yards down the road and 'Singing Sands', a large sandy beach is a ten minute drive away; it's a good beach for kids because the water is warm and shallow and you can go out a long way, Sauble Beach is an hours' drive away. The two neighbouring cottages are not close and they are both used only two weeks in the summer so the property is quite private. It is on a four season road and the driveway is cleared every large snowfall so winter rental is no problem.

Information sur la localisation : The cottage is on Dorcas Bay Road , about twenty kilometres north of Ferndale. It is on the tip of Johnstons Harbour , a small bay on Lake Huron. It's a nice drive with none of the traffic you get on the 400 hwys

We charge $475 per week in june, july, and august, september and october. We rent the cottage for one week minimum stay in the summer. The rate per week for april, may is $425 . Our weekend rate in the winter is $300 for 2:00 pm Friday to noon Monday plus $50 for each additional night.( $300 is the minimum charge for a winter weekend) In the warmer months the cost is $200 for the weekend plus $50 for each additional night although we try to rent for full weeks so weekend rentals are last minute bookings. During the winter months, the rate is $450 per week. Check-out time is noon saturday and checkin time will be 2P.M. saturday. We are charging a very reasonable rate for a renovated, modern cottage .
