************************* Testimonials: May 2011 - Thank you for sharing your cottage. It was the absolute perfect spot to spend some time with family and friends. With your well stocked library of books and games, even the rainy weather couldn't damper our fun. Best wishes, Sandy. July 9, 2011 - Thanks so much for letting us enjoy your cottage. We all had a fabulous time. Thanks again, Kim.
July23, 2011 - We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing time here at Edelweiss Escape. The weather was perfect for swimming in the lake and even the storm which cut the power off for 24 hrs couldnt dampen our spirits. Thanks for the cottage and the wonderful memories. Lynne (Basel, Switzerland)
Aug 6, 2011 - We had a really nice family get together. It was gratifying that our family, the parents, children and grandchildren were all able to peacefully coexist under one roof. Some fond highlight moments include:the camp fire, we had some great story telling. The imaginations of the 4 yr twins was astounding and a mock marriage on the dock. The spontaneity and sincerity of the acting was simply hilarious. I think the idea sprung forth from an explanation about two mating dragon flies resting on the boat. The astonishment of the four month old as she looked at the vivid colors in your flowers. They were all in full bloom that week. The varied reading material and in particular the large Geographic books. What a hit with the kids, the excitement and anticipation of discovery on each page turn. The respect for nature. The tarantula living on the dock, aka the 3" water spider, that escaped the wrath of the city slicker & family. Despite our desire to send it on a one way trip to spider heaven, we all learned to peacefully coexist. Although there was some coaxing to encourage it to at least stay out of site.As to the leech, fortunately this wasn't discovered until later in the week and it only put off one swimmer in the group. The loon family. My goodness, a lifetime has passed since I was a teen and heard their eerie and haunting calls.Being a small lake, their echo actually woke me up on two nights. Their presence certainly added to the harmony of the lake.Cooking a bacon and egg breakfast on the BBQ, nothing beats it. Thank you for the opportunity to use your cottage. It was fully furnished and stocked and we were left not wanting anything. ( except perhaps, just where were the horseshoes?) Looking at the pictures scattered about the cottage, one could see the love of family and the joy of life in the faces of your brood. You are fortunate to have a small piece of paradise and the wisdom to enjoy it. Oh, you can also tell Martin that there are indeed fish in the lake, plenty of them. Didn't catch anything longer than 7 in or so, but then again I didn't really try very hard. We'll just leave them for the loons. Thanks, John
Aug 12, 2011 - good afternoon, I wanted to thank you for renting out your cottage to Derrick, Simon and I. We had a wonderful time, even with the rainy weather. Thank you-we hope to stay again! Regards, Corry
Dec 27-Jan 3 Hi, I hope that you found your lovely cottage in suitable condition after we thoroughly enjoyed every nook and cranny of the space! The cottage offered us a wonderful winter wonderland to spend our Christmas holiday's! We just arrived back in Montreal last night, as we un-packed we noticed that all of our clothes still smell like smoke ? a sweet memory of our time! You have decorated in such a cozy, warm fashion, your book collection gave a great reason to do nothing but lie on the couch and read and the windows let us watch the kids have such fun outside. We all had a blast discovering the woods and tobogganing. The kid's books were also a great hit with our 7 year old!!! We hope to rent again for the Christmas season next year, as it was a perfect meeting point for family and it was just the perfect place for us to break from the business of life! Many thanks, Rebecca,

Our kids (and us) spent most of the weekend jumping off the dock and exploring the lake with the paddle boat. I don't know if you are thinking of renting again next year but if so we would definitely be interested. Thanks so much, Allison
