Description
|
The Cockscomb Lake Retreat is located on a one acre, fully landscaped lot featuring private water frontage. As the name suggests, the cottage is located on Cockscomb Lake in the Mount Uniacke area of Nova Scotia. The cottage features a fully equiped kitchen, a "Great Room" with a fully functioning wood fireplace that beautifully highlights the cottage's post and beam construction, four bedrooms (BR#1: double bed; BR#2: double bed; BR#3: two single beds; BR#4: one set of bunk beds) and a full bathroom with tub/shower. There is hardwood flooring throughout the cottage. A LCD TV, satellite television and DVD / VCR player are also available.
The exterior of the cottage features a three tiered deck that measures over 1000 sq feet that overlooks the lake. A large grassed lot leads from the deck area to the water's edge where you will find a brand new dock waiting. The dock features a 24 foot walkout that leads to a 12 foot by 16 foot dock with swimming ladder. Adjacent to the dock walkout is a fantastic sandbox for the kids!
The cottage is fully winterized and as such is available for use year round. The private road leading to the cottage is ploughed during the winter months providing full access.

Equipments:
The "Great Room" of Cockscomb Lake Retreat is simply breath taking. It features floor to ceiling, tongue and groove, clear pine board on the walls while the large wooden support beams of the cottage remain exposed to view. The cornerstone of the "Great Room" is the centrally located fireplace. The brick chimney is exposed the full height of the "Great Room" (20+ feet). There is ample seating available to enjoy the fire (one box of firewood included). All the bedrooms are a very comfortable size and are very easy to maneuver around in. All bedding is provided. An inflatable bed is also available on request. Outside, the three tiered deck features a propane BBQ and lots of seating to enjoy the sun and the beautiful view of the lake. The fully "equipped" sand box near the water's edge will provide kids of all ages hours and hours of entertainment while just steps away from the lake.
The lake itself is a swimmer's and boater's dream. The large walkout and dock provide easy access to the lake's charms. In the summer, the lake temperature is typically between 75 and 80 degrees which makes for very comfortable swimming conditions. A canoe and life jackets are also available for your enjoyment (**Speedboat not included in rental). Viewing the sunset from the dock will not be forgotten! A large open firepit is located in the main yard...just one more way to enjoy your evening.
For those looking for a fall or winter get away, the peace and serenity of watching the colorful leaves fall from the numerous maple trees in the fall months or watching the snow fall with a fire burning can not be beat. You also have access to miles and miles of nearby trails if you want to cross country ski or skidoo. For you downhill ski enthusiasts, remember Ski Martock is only 25 minutes away!

The cottage is available for weekly rental only from the long weekend in May to Labour Day in September (inclusive). The rental rate is $1400 per week. Check in is Saturday morning and check out is the subsequent Friday afternoon; check in / check out times can be customized according to your needs.
The cottage is also available during the offseason (From Labour Day to Long Weekend in May) for weekly rental or weekend rental. The weekly rental rate during this time is $900 per week; same check in time and check out time as detailed above. The weekend rental rate is $500. Check in for a weekend rental is 5:00pm on Friday and Check out is at 12:00pm on Sunday.
