WELCOME TO KOKOMO. -
CONCRETE DRIVEWAY ASSURES EASY ACCESS! We offer over 1/2 an acre of privacy (no other buildings on the property), tall trees and 132 ft of genuine walk-on waterfront, charming fully insulated modern shingled cottage w/stained glass windows, wood-burning fireplace. Views of Denman & Hornby & Lasquetti Islands and down Georgia Strait to the horizon - from inside & outside the cottage! At high tide you can toss a stone from the low (2 ft), 300 square foot-plus deck into the ocean. When we have a low tide, there are lots of shallow tidal pools to explore, a wide selection of starfish and other exotic sea-life, perfect for children. We offer 2 TVs & a VCR & 2 DVD players, Monopoly & Scrabble, puzzles, plus lots of wildlife including seals and eagles and herons & so on, sea lions in season. Great low-tide clamming. For fun on the water we have a lightweight 12-foot aluminum boat with oars, a bright yellow plastic kayak, and an aluminum 15 ft canoe. Life jackets in many sizes.

Local attractions and things to do:
Fishing & good swimming. Miles & miles of beach walks. Denman & Hornby Island ferry is 20 minutes up-island. Spider and Horne Lake and the famous Horn Lake caves 20 minutes away. Ditto Arrowsmith golf course - we're golf-course rich. Rathtrevor Beach 25 minutes ditto Englishman River Falls. See the goats on the roof at the public market in Coombs, or visit the Wildlife Refuge, both a 15 minute scenic drive away. The hatchery & trout fishing at Big Qualicum river is about ten minutes away. Ditto public tennis court, Legion. Visit www.lighthousecountry.ca for more info on the area. We provide cut & split firewood for the beach & the cottage's fireplace!

Cottage
All rooms except the two bathrooms and small main floor bedroom have large windows and unobstructed views of the sea.
Kitchen has stove, newer fridge, microwave, 4-slice toaster, coffee maker, electric kettle, muffin pans, baking sheet, dishes,etc.
Living room has pine floor and a wood burning fireplace, 2 new chaise sofas to stretch out on. Main floor bedrooms - the smaller room has comfortable birch bunk beds with safety rails, and the larger bedroom (windows on the right-hand side in picture) has a queen-size bed. The main floor features a full bathroom with tub & shower.
Upstairs large windows in the master bedroom offer a panoramic view of the sea and nearby islands. There is a king size bed plus a separate bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink. We provide all bedding, including clean sheets. The cottage is professionally cleaned on a weekly basis.
Back to the main floor - 2 sets of large glass double French doors in the living room open to the spacious "CHILD-PROOF" sun deck.
There are plenty of books, games, 2 TVs and 2DVD players, video player, but no cable or telephone, although cellphone reception is excellent. For summer use there's a Weber barbecue and a patio set. Because the property is heavily treed, the cottage stays cool all day long, even during the heat of July and August. The local coffee shop provides free wireless Internet access for laptop users.

$1,600 Canadian per week June 29, 2013, through September 7, 2013.
$1,100 Canadian per week in the off season. We only able to rent by the week. Saturday 4 Pm to Saturday Noon. Until confirmed, rates are subject to change without notice. Rates are based on a maximum of four adults, total of six guests. Call if your party is larger or has more adults.
