Description

Tasso lake is about 30 minutes north east of Huntsville. It is a quiet lake, about 10 km long within hiking distance of the western boundary of Algonquin Park. The geography is very similar to that of the park.
This 1000 sq ft western red cedar log (panabode) cottage is situated on the lakefront of Tasso lake, about a 20 minute drive from Huntsville. The cottage sits on a finished basement and is is surrounded by a large (~800 sq. ft.) deck. The location is extremely private surrounded by indigenous evergreens, birch and maple trees, with crown land on one side and dense bush on the other. The view of the lake is through birch and balsam firs and the natural setting has been preserved.

There is a unique large flat grassy area next to the cottage/ crown land for badminton/ volleyball etc, and there is a basketball net at the back of the cottage. The walk down to the lake is fairly gradual and there is a flat grassy area just before the dock. Beside the dock is a ~30' sandy/ pebbly beach with a shallow area within 10' of the shore after which the bottom drops off to about 7' depth at the end of the dock which is ~30' from shore.

There is excellent shopping, dining and entertainment, horse riding, skiing and golf courses nearby.
